Painting mainly in watercolour, the drama and emotion of the local landscape is a constant source of inspiration. I hope to capture atmosphere, evoking memories and emotions that enable others to discover their own personal meaning within the work.

Marie’s pottery blends artistry with nature, crafting elegant white stoneware pieces adorned with delicate slips and underglazes. Using Sgraffito and Chattering techniques, she creates intricate textures. Her jewellery, imprinted on beach stones, reflects Morecambe Bay’s raw beauty, with glazes echoing coastal colours.

All of my items are designed and made by hand by me, Maria. I am working in soft merino and pure wool. I create my own designs for hats, snoods, headbands with mitts to match. I also make small crafted gifts made out of tweed. I also create key ring purses, bags and charms.

Bleasdale School is a Generic Special School in the heart of Silverdale village, which caters for children and young people with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Condition. Shape, form, colour and my locality influence me. I aim to create a representation of what I see in the soul-soothing process of lino and screen printing. Getting into the flow of printing, letting the process unfold is healing; it has an element of surprise, wonder and magic when at first a print is revealed.

I started making cold process soaps about 3 years ago and wanted hand crafted dishes to go with them. I attended a pottery class and started to make my own hand built, ceramic soap dishes.

I work across multiple mediums using an array of processes. I transform remnant material and look for ideas within it. Most recently I have been transforming old sketches that may have been thrown out or burnt. I live in Allithwaite.
