I make handcrafted jewellery, accessories and decorative items. I started Scalia Creations when my eldest daughter turned 5 and we wanted party favours but couldn’t find anything suitable, that was back in 2014. I fell in love with creating and now make a whole host of pieces from bridal tiaras to bookmarks. I love to make bespoke pieces for people and what started as a means to make a small child happy has become a lovely hobby, therapy, and a great way to meet like-minded people 🙂

I work in clay and in mosaics, creating decorative pieces for homes and gardens. Our local wildlife is often the inspiration for my ceramics. I salvage broken pottery from Silverdale shore and other places, and enjoy giving it a new life.

Silversmithing is in my blood! Like my blacksmith ancestors, I love manipulating and forming metal. I hammer silver into delicate, organic shapes adding freshwater pearls with irregular characteristics and colourful gemstones to create unique, highly feminine jewellery.

The art of papermaking is a passion of mine. I work with plant fibres and natural dyes to create handmade paper that has a uniqueness of its own in texture and colour. I enjoy the whole process from foraging for the plant, processing the pulp, dying and pulling a piece of paper.

Children from the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape have produced a range of artworks celebrating marvellous moths, and raising awareness of the threats they face. This project is delivered with the help of Larksfoot CIC, with the support of the Bittern Countryside CIC.
