Bleasdale School is a Generic Special School in the heart of Silverdale village, which caters for children and young people with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Condition. Shape, form, colour and my locality influence me. I aim to create a representation of what I see in the soul-soothing process of lino and screen printing. Getting into the flow of printing, letting the process unfold is healing; it has an element of surprise, wonder and magic when at first a print is revealed.

I work across multiple mediums using an array of processes. I transform remnant material and look for ideas within it. Most recently I have been transforming old sketches that may have been thrown out or burnt. I live in Allithwaite.

Steve is a watercolour artist based in Allithwaite painting predominantly local scenes. A member of Made in Allithwaite and exhibiting at the Beach Hut Gallery in Kent’s Bank.

I paint and exhibit in my small garden studio just off Stankelt Road in the centre of the village. My watercolours and some mixed media are inspired by the Bay Area but also include some paintings of the Lakes District and some small studies of birds.

I have always loved textiles and produce hand painted framed pictures, combining a strong love of colour, collage and embroidery. My work is mixed media and I enjoy creating a range of themes, including birds, coastal, landscapes and more recently campervan adventures!

Silverdale Painting Group was established in the 1970’s to encourage residents to learn, experiment, enjoy and share visual activities regardless of previous experience. The Annual Exhibition showcases a diverse range of media and subject to include originals, prints, Group Project, 3D, and cards.

A note on parking – You can use the Freemasons’ car park during the daytime over the weekend on Emesgate Lane, almost opposite the fire station.
The art of papermaking is a passion of mine. I work with plant fibres and natural dyes to create handmade paper that has a uniqueness of its own in texture and colour. I enjoy the whole process from foraging for the plant, processing the pulp, dying and pulling a piece of paper.
