I am part of the Indigo Shady group. We like to meet to explore different materials and techniques inspired by beautiful landscape and found objects. I work mainly in acrylics and my work is usually fairly large and sometimes dramatic.

I had a background in art, which I’d loved since childhood but I only took up painting “seriously” after I retired. I get a lot of my inspiration from my surroundings. I work with a variety of mediums and love experimenting.
I am an abstract painter – acrylic, mixed media, and digital. My artwork Is influenced by my interest in the human mind, emotions, and our responses to the landscape, the cosmos and world events. I have been exhibiting for 23 years.
Making art is an itch that has to be scratched. I make art everyday, sometimes painting, usually print making, always drawing. My inspiration comes from everywhere, mostly landscapes, usually from the where I live. Recently, scale has become part of the process, and current works are small. What interests me as much as the image I make, when I print, is the process used to make it, using lino cut techniques and tools, some conventional, some not. However, as always, when the paper is about to be lifted, there is the anticipation and then the moment of surprise when the image is revealed.
I have loved working with fabrics ever since I could reach the pedal of my mother’s sewing machine. Now I re-purpose fabrics making bags, aprons, cushions and just recently a unique collect of fun silk buttons.
I am greatly inspired by my surroundings, nature and my travels. I use acrylics and paint in my own slightly quirky style and have a range of merchandise including greetings cards, coasters, key rings and fridge magnets of the local area.
